Born in Paris in 1959, Dominique Chouaba has been passionate about many artistic disciplines since childhood.
He obtained a first prize in dance at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, followed by a brief career in this field (Opéra du Rhin). He then took an interest in university studies (Master’s degree in English/German at Paris III).
It is following these experiences that he turned definitively towards painting and graphic arts. Since then, he has exhibited in France, both in Paris and in the region, as well as abroad (mainly Austria, Japan, England…).
He participated on several occasions in the creation of sets and costumes for theater and opera (Cosi fan tutte L’Opéra des gueux, Wozzeck…).
A Chevalier des Arts et Lettres since 1997, he is referenced in the Benezit. He has recently opened a gallery and workshop space in Lapradelle-Puilaurens, where he exhibits his works and gives painting lessons.
